Diver Asset Recovery System

Wight Ocean has partnered with Marine Magnetics of Canada to further develop the diver held ARGOS magnetometer to integrate it with modern inspection class ROVs.  ROV specific mounts allow the ARGOS to be easily mounted on almost any inspection ROV. Connection to the topside is via an ethernet connection utilising the ROVs existing umbilical connections.  Gradient data from the ARGOS may be displayed and viewed by the ROV pilot in graphical form using the 'BOB' software provided. This allows the ROV operator to easily locate buried objects based on increasing or decreasing signal strengths. as they navigate around a target location.   The ARGOS sensor detects metal objects ahead as well as port and starboard of the sensor. This facilitates increased lane spacing when searching an area.  The range to a potential target whether buried or not is dependant on the magnetic gradient detected, thus larger objects are likely to be detected at greater ranges. The system may be used to relocate lost items or objects identified in wide area surveys as potential targets.
